GR5 Titanium Sheet

Titanium plates are mainly used to make aircraft engine compressor components, followed by rocket, missile and high-speed aircraft structural parts. In the mid-1960s, titanium and its alloys have been used in general industry, for making electrodes in the electrolysis industry, condensers in power plants, heaters for petroleum refining and seawater desalination, and environmental pollution control devices. Titanium and its alloys have become a corrosion-resistant structural material. It is also used to produce hydrogen storage materials and shape memory alloys.

What is GR5 Titanium Sheet?

Titanium alloy Gr 5 strip is considered an alpha-beta alloy. ASTM B265 is a specification that covers annealed titanium and titanium-based alloys fabricated in strip, sheet, and grade 5 titanium plate. Grade 5 titanium plate alloy metals covered by the Astm B265 specification are required to meet the specified chemical composition requirements. For example, the alloy used for Astm B265 Titanium Gr 5 cold rolled sheet is chemically composed of the following amounts of alloying material, namely - 6% aluminium and 4% vanadium, which is why titanium grade 5 sheet is often referred to as Ti 6Al-4V

Difference Between GR5 Titanium Sheet, Sheet and Foil

Thicknesses greater than 0.15mm and less than 6.35mm are called grade 5 titanium plates.

Thicknesses greater than 6.35mm are called grade 5 titanium plates.

Thickness less than 0.15mm is called grade 5 titanium foil.
