Grade 2 titanium fitting ends are butt welded fittings made from commercially pure titanium grade 2 (UNS R50400). It consists of two parts, a straight pipe section and a lapped section, as shown in Figure 1. It is usually used with lapped flanges or gaskets to form a bolted assembly. The outer diameter and wall thickness of the straight pipe section should be the same as the pipe. The lap thickness P shall not be less than the nominal pipe wall thickness t. The diameter of the lap G conforms to the standard machined face of the RF flange. Fillets should be provided between overlapping and straight pipe sections to avoid stress concentrations. The fillet radius R corresponds to the radius determined for the lap flange or gasket
